Most of the paintings you will see on this website are, of course, portraits and caricature, either commission based or just a celebrity painting I felt compelled to do. I have included other paintings for variety, however portrait and caricature painting is what I enjoy doing. Here is a small list of the work I do:

I have a degree in Art and Design. A lot of this was illustration and animation and a good deal of painting.
What am I doing now?
Um, painting, mostly. I work almost exclusively with Acrylics on Canvas. It is a personal preference although I have been known to work with Oils. Most of the portraits you see have been worked from photographs in Acrylic or pencil. Working from photographs is a great way of trying to capture the subject. I always feel using a little imagination with painting can greatly improve a painting. In addition, it saves on travel expenses and if the portrait is a gift to someone then it can prove to be a nice little suprise.
I occasionally do exhibitions. The Beatles Exhibition at Liverpool is an annual show I usually submit to.
Why the basic website?
I wanted to keep this website to the minimum of design. This keeps the site fast and easy to edit. There are a lot of painting jpegs on this site, so frilly bits have been avoided.
Please note that the colour of the paintings can vary with your moniter settings.
In some cases the scans and photographs of the portraits will not fully capture the texture of the paintings.
